There are many activities upcoming at the Brooklyn Charter School that our students and their parents need to remember. Mark these on your calendar.
Rescheduled Interim Assessments
The ELA Interim Assessment, originally slated for Tuesday, Jan. 23 and Wednesday, Jan. 24, has been rescheduled a week later for Wednesday, Jan. 31 and Thursday, Feb. 1. This means that the Math Interim Assessment originally planned for Jan. 30-31 has been pushed back to Tuesday, Feb. 6 and Wednesday, Feb. 7.
School Spirit Days
Friday, Jan. 26, the Brooklyn Charter School celebrated School Spirit with Camouflage Day. Students wore their favorite camouflage outfit that day. Next month, School Spirit will be on Thursday, Feb. 15, with Favorite Book Character Day. Please have your children dress appropriately for that occasion as well.
Success Assembly
The next Brooklyn Charter School Success Assembly will occur Friday, Feb. 2. Students will get to celebrate their recent academic, social and emotional achievements and growth.
Second Grade Field Trip
The Museum of Natural History in midtown Manhattan will be the destination for the second graders as they take a field trip on Tuesday, Feb. 6. It should be a fun trip for them to apply what they have been learning in art classes.
Vision/Hearing Screening
Students in grades K-2 will get a free check of their vision/hearing on Tuesday, Feb. 2.
Winterfest
Winterfest has been postponed. Now known as “BCS Fest,” this event will now be held on Wednesday, May 16th. Check our website for more information in the upcoming weeks.
Mid Winter Recess
There will be no school from Friday, Feb. 16 through Friday, Feb. 23 for Mid Winter Recess. See you back and ready to study when we reopen on Monday, Feb. 26!
