Special Education Teacher (K-5)

Job Description:

The Special Education Teacher will collaborate closely with General Education teachers to provide tailored instruction in Humanities, Math, and Science. This role involves co-teaching alongside a general education teacher in an inclusion classroom setting to support all students in the classroom. The special education teacher will utilize various ICT instructional methods and plan Specially Designed Instruction to meet the needs of students with Individualized Education Plans.

General responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Work collaboratively with General Education teachers to deliver instruction using various co-teaching models
• Engage and participate in teacher growth and evaluation process
• Build strong classroom culture and community with all stakeholders
• Manage classroom behavior and monitor student goals
• Attend and actively participate all professional development and collaborative meetings
• Utilize data for instruction
• Able to inspire and motivate students
• Knowledge of current educational practices and methodologies

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
• At least two years of teaching experience strongly preferred
• New York State teacher certification in Special Education content area strongly preferred
• Experience working with students with IEPs and implementing SDI
• Strong organizational skills and communication skills that contribute to collaboration as well as the willingness to participate in professional development

We are seeking a committed and passionate General Education teacher to join our team and make a difference in the lives of our students.

Job Description:

The General Education Teacher will create tailored instruction in Humanities, Math, and Science. This role involves instructing and supporting all students in the classroom in order to achieve success. The General Education teacher may also be working in an ICT classroom, collaborating with a Special Education teacher. We are currently seeking teachers for all grades for the 26-27 school year.

General responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Work collaboratively with grade teams
• Deliver engaging, academically rigorous tailored instruction in all subject areas
• Engage and participate in teacher growth and evaluation process
• Build strong classroom culture and community with all stakeholders
• Manage classroom behavior and monitor student goals
• Attend and actively participate all professional development and collaborative meetings
• Utilize data for instruction
• Able to inspire and motivate students
• Knowledge of current educational practices and methodologies

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field
• At least two years of teaching experience strongly preferred
• New York State teacher certification in Childhood Education (Birth-2, Grades 1-6) strongly preferred
• Strong organizational skills and communication skills that contribute to collaboration as well as the willingness to participate in professional development
